In Soka City, the risk is estimated very low about inundation to the second floor or higher, about landslide disaster or about the river water washing away houses.
The evacuation to the second floor or higher can be done in the familiar environment, protecting privacy and avoiding danger while evacuating.
If your house does not have the second floor, or feel uneasy, evacuate to the house of a relative or of a friend, or to an evacuation shelter opened.
What to Prepare for Home Evacuation

You may suffer from inundation from unexpected places.
The word inundation may make you imagine water coming from outside, such as from the front door, but water may flow backward from the drain hole of the washing machine, of the bathroom or of toilets, jetting up.
Place weight units, such as waterbags, to prevent backward flow.

Waterbags to Prevent Flood and Backward Flow while the Water Is Not Deep
Waterbags are easy to make and easy to dispose of.
You can make waterbags with things you have at home, such as garbage bags.
Remember how to make them.
How to Make Waterbags
(1)Prepare two garbage bags (45L).
(2)Put one bag into the other, and half-fill the doubled bag with water.
(3)Remove all the air from the bag, and tie the opening.
How to Use Waterbags
(1)Place the waterbags on the drain to prevent backward flow.
- Place the waterbags on the drain holes of the washing machine and of the bathroom.
- Place the waterbag in the toilet seat.
- If you store water in the bathtub, it will prevent backward flow and it may be used for daily life water in case of emergency.
(2)Place the waterbags before the front door or in the garage to prevent water from coming in.
You may substitute them by plastic containers.
Put the waterbags into a box and wrap it with blue plastic waterproof sheeting to make it stronger.
It may be used to fix the water bar.

Donation Being Collected for the Supportive Projects
In Response to the Inundation Damage Caused by the Typhoon No.2
Soka City is collecting donation for the supportive projects, making use of the hometown tax system.
The collected donation will be spent to support restoration after disaster.
