This year marks the 30th anniversary since Soka City made the first declaration as a music city in Saitama Prefecture in 1993, aiming for a city filled with music where everyone can enjoy music.
In commemorating the anniversary, Soka City will hold various events, with music organizations in the city.

1986 The 1st Soka Citizens Music Festival held
1988 The 1st Ongaku-no Mori Concert held
The city song “Omoide-wa Itsumo (Memories Remain in the City)” established
1989 The 1st International Harp Festival 1989 held
1993 Declaration as a music city on June 22, the first declaration in Saitama Prefecture
International Harp Festival designated as a “Culture Creation Support Project of Saitama Prefecture”
2000 Her Majesty the Empress comes to the International Harp Festival
2013 City Council Hall concert held, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the declaration as a music city
2023 The 30th anniversary of the declaration as a music city
