What Are Resident Group Doing ?
118 resident groups are in activity in Soka City. What are those groups doing ? We interviewed some of the presidents of resident groups about their major activities.
Yahata Resident Group
Mr. ASAI Kikuo, President
The Yahata Resident Group is proud of holding enjoyable events. Last year we staged a walking rally for the first time, giving small presents of utility goods such as tissue papers and instant noodles at every point of the course to 258 participants.
The mobile zoo and the market were popular among children and young generation. We hope to make opportunities to draw a lot of people.
We send out information in Koho Yahata (community newspaper) issued every other month. Feel free to read them.
We make events enjoyable both for organizers and for participants.
Yoshi-cho 4-chome Resident Group
Mr. NOGUCHI Kazuo
The Yoshi-cho 4-chome Resident Group organized the San Club to promote health, with the cooperation of the Soka Sports Association. We are staging various recreation, including ground golf, which is open to all generations.
The San San Club is open to everyone.
Yatsuka-cho Usagi Resident Group
Mr. MORI Takao
We stage various events based in Inari Shrine, such as the first visit of the year to the shrine for New Year and radio exercise in summer.
Among them the festival of Inari Shrine held in autumn is a major event drawing a lot of people, both children and adults. The festival is crowded with the portable shrine and refreshment booths. We hope these events will help to make the residents feel happy to live in this community.
Many young members are active in our groups.

Q: When and how do they plan their activities ?
A: Basically, the activities and the budget of the year is decided in the general meeting, but those may be changed in response to circumstances, for example, to the distribution of goods to prevent infection such as masks under the corona virus crisis.
