Automobile tax/light vehicle tax (category based), levied on vehicle owners, is to be paid by May 31 (Wed.) at a designated financial institution, a post office, a convenience store or smartphone settlement applications (PayPay, LINE Pay or PayB).
Automobile tax (category based) is also payable by smartphone settlement applications (PayPay, LINE Pay, PayB, auPay, FamiPay or Rakuten Bank app.), a credit card from the website or Paysy by Internet banking.
From April, 2023 "el-QR" (unified local tax QR code) will be preinted on payment slips of city taxes (including automobile taxes).
(1)You can pay at the financial institutions printed on the back of the payment slip and at the financial institutions that correspond unified local tax QR codes nationwide.
(2)You can use credit card payment, internet banking etc. by accessing the "Local Tax Payment site" from your smartphone or computer.
(3)You can use various smartphone settlement apps by directly reading the "el-QR" with the app.
