To Support Mothers after Childbirth
Partial Subsidies for Parturient Check-up
Subsidies will be provided for part of the parturient check-up within about one month after childbirth, with the aim of protecting mental and physical health of mothers.
Check-up to be covered
The parturient check-up given on April 1 onward
Target people
Parturient women who are registered as a citizen of Soka City on the day of the parturient check-up
Medical check-up to be covered
- Basic medical check-up for parturient women
- Mental health check-up
Subsidies
Frequency: Up to twice (with a doctor's instruction)
Limit of subsidies: Up to 5,000 yen per check-up
* The amount exceeded is to be borne by the parturient woman.
* The check-up and medicines covered by the health insurance are not subject to this subsidy.
Procedures
Submit the subsidy voucher of parturient women check-up at the medical institution at the time of check-up.
* The subsidy will not be granted without mental health check-up.
* Some medical institutions are not covered by this subsidy. Make a confirmation in advance.
Issuance of the subsidy vouchers
The subsidy voucher will be issued with Boshi Techo (Mother and Child Book).
For those who received Boshi Techo (Mother and Child Book) by March 23 and the expected delivery date is April 1 onward, the voucher will be sent by postal mail. Those who could not use the voucher, returning to her parents' home for childbirth, may have reimbursement.

Postnatal Care Project (Lodging/Going/Receiving Visits)
Supports are provided to mothers who need support after childbirth to take care of the baby.
Starting time
Reception and consultation: From April 3 (Mon)
Support: From June 1 (Thu)
Support types
Three types - lodging, going and receiving visits
- Advice and guidance about mental and physical health care and about daily life of mothers
- Advice about observing the health condition of babies
- Child care guidance about bathing and breast-feeding
- Consultation and information about child care
Target people: * Reviewing precedes support.
- Mothers and babies of four months or younger who are registered as resident of Soka City (six months or younger for receiving visits type)
- Those who cannot have support of a family
- Those who have psychosomatic disorder and anxiety about child-rearing after childbirth
- Neither the mother nor the baby need medical practice

* Free of charge for families exempted of the resident tax and for those under livelihood protection
