A New Trick of Fraud Phone Calls
Many phone calls have been received by senior citizens since November 2022, pretending to be a city employee, a policeman or a social worker, asking about family-makeup and other things.
These phone calls may lead to fraud incidents. Be on alert about suspicious phone calls and visits.
Measures to Prevent Damage
- Set the automatic answering function on your telephone, and do not answer suspicious calls.
- If you feel suspicious about the phone call, hang up and talk with your family or with a policeman.
Tel.(048) 943-0110 - If you receive a phone call from a suspicious person calling himself/herself a social worker, ask the full name and hang up for the moment. Call Fukushi Seisaku-ka (Social Welfare Police Section) or the social welfare council to ask if the person really exists.
