Traffic Fatalities Occur Frequently in Soka City
Four traffic fatalities occurred during the three months from October to December last year, and Soka City was designated as an area to take special measures to prevent traffic accidents by Saitama Prefecture, to be continued until March 26 (Sat).
At present, Soka City is taking measures to prevent traffic accidents, in collaboration with the Soka Police and the related organizations, with focus on the prevention of traffic accidents of senior citizens and in intersections.
So As Not to Become a Perpetrator nor a Victim
The awareness and actions of each of you is essential.
Be careful about the things below to prevent traffic accidents.
Drivers
- Be considerate to others.
- Turn on the light early enough at dusk.
- Give priority to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.
- Drunken driving is a crime. Never drive after drinking.
Bicycle-riders
- Keep to the left.
- Observe the traffic rules at intersections.
- Wear a helmet, adults as well as children.
Pedestrians
- Wear a reflector when you go out at night.
- Pay special attention in crossing a street near a parked car.
- Keep these four things in mind in crossing a street on a pedestrian crossing.
Be sure to raise a hand and look ahead.
Always look both ways before crossing a street.
Look again if a car rushes out.
Smile to the driver of a car that stopped for you.
