Training Resumed

The section 3 of the branch 3 of the firefighting party, based in the Koyama district, had training at the west branch office on May 15 (Sun).
On the training day, 13 members from the 30's to the 60's gathered and confirmed the operation procedure of the fire truck and the handling procedure of the hoses, constantly communicating with one another, under the guidance of the staff of the fire station.
Trainings used to be conducted a few times a month before, but many trainings were canceled due to the corona virus crisis.
A participating member said, "My hands stopped during the training and I was reminded of the importance of daily trainings," and participants continued to confirm the operating procedures.

What Is a Firefighting Party?

Firefighting parties are made up of citizen volunteers and they are engaged in firefighting and disaster prevention activities.
There are five branches in the city and 206 members at present.
The members repeat trainings in a limited time because they have regular work.
Trainings enables them to build a relationship of mutual trust so that they can take actions to protect the lives and properties of people in the community in times of emergency, in collaboration with the firefighting organizations.

What "I" Can Do

In a large-scale disaster which occurred in the past, cases are known in which families, friends and neighbors, referred to as "mutual help of walking distance," took pro-active measures to minimize damage.

A kind-hearted community Soka will be developed by many days of relationship among residents and efforts of what one can do, including the activities of firefighting parties.

See the separate page about the details of their activities.

Comment by the Leader of the Party

Mr. AOKI Shinpei, leader of the firefighting party

Promptness is the key in firefighting activities.
To prevent the spreading of fire, first-aid firefighting and reporting is essential as soon as you find fire.
To realize this, the awareness and cooperation of community residents is indispensable besides the firefighting parties and the firefighting station.
Let's all cooperate together - all related to the community, such as resident groups, community residents, firefighting parties and the fire station.
