Green Infrastructure Award, Award by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

This is a project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to recognize and widely publicize excellent commitments, technique and methods related to green infrastructure, and this is the second year.
Among the 27 entries from nationwide, the Comfort Matsubara and Matsubaradanchi Kinen Park was chosen in the life space section, and was given the award on March 14.
The recognized commitments include the succession of trees which has grown for more than 50 years from the period of the former Soka Matsubaradanchi, the rainwater outflow suppressing facilities with high naturalness and the provision of places for exchanges among various generations by designing the layout of squares and parks.

What is green infrastructure ?

This is an idea to utilize the resources and the systems produced by natural environment and various creatures for the solution of various issues.

School Song in Sign Language

At the Graduation Ceremony of Seimon Elementary School

In Seimon Elementary School, the sign language version of school song was produced, with the cooperation of the Soka City Association of the Deaf and the sign language association, wishing to create the last memory for the graduates in the restriction of activities under the coronavirus crisis.
In the graduation ceremony held on March 24, the students showed the results of practice with gratitude.
Mr. TAZAWA Ryota and Ms. KANBAYASHI Ayame, graduates said, "Singing the school song in sign language was the last cherishing memory as a 6th grader," and "The motion of hands in sign language call up the words of the school song."

Soka Senbei Certified as Food for 100 Years!

Of the Agency for Cultural Affairs

The Agency of Cultural Affairs names food culture based in local climate and history and loved by local people over generations as "Food for 100 Years" to support their succession.
On March 3 Soka Senbei was certified as "Food for 100 Years" [the traditional food for 100 years section?local food lasting from the Edo period] (certified organizations: the Soka Senbei promotion council and the Saitama Prefecture Products and Tourism Association).
Given the certification, Mr. TOYODA Shigeharu, president of the Soka Senbei promotion council, expressed his pleasure, "Our work of keeping up the tradition and making Senbei was crowned. We will keep working with pride so that Senbei will continue for 100 years."
