We received an online report from Mr. Daniel Serrano, a member of the swimming team of the Republic of Columbia, who achieved a marvelous result of a gold medal, a silver medal and two bronze medals in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics swimming.

Mr. Daniel Serrano recalled and said, "Thanks to the good training in the pre-games camp in Soka two years ago, I could display 100% of my ability. I am grateful to people in Soka for their support and hospitality." He also sent a message to children, "Learn the importance of making efforts with strength and eagerness by playing sports."

Boccia Mixed Pairs BC3Silver Medal

The Soka City municipal honor awards were given to Mr. Takahashi and Mr. Taoda, sports assistant, who won silver medals in Boccia Mixed Pairs BC3 in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, the first medalists in that event.
Mr. Takahashi graduated from Seimon Elementary School, and visited the school several times for lectures and for trial boccia classes.
Mr. Taoda graduated from Soka Senior High School and worked at Soka Kagayaki Special Support Education School.
Both athletes are related to Soka.
Mr. Takahashi said, after receiving the award, "The banner strung across and the message gave me energy. I am happy to report good news to you, although I feel I could have done a little better. I will go on making efforts." Mr. Taoda said with eagerness, "I am honored to report good news to people in Soka, who assisted us a lot. I will work hard to improve ourselves."
