The publicizing booklet "Yatsuka-no Kizashi" was created by the Yatsuka Station East Exit merchant association, taking advantage of the subsidies of the city to support projects aiming for sharp recovery of sales, in response to the slumping sales of shops under the coronavirus crisis, with the aim of revitalization.
The publishers wish to make the local stores better-known to citizens and to have students at Bunkyo University read one.
The booklet introduces, with photos and columns, information of 58 eating houses and service industries, shrines, shopping streets, universities and Sumo stables.
Booklets are just for local residents and students at Bunkyo University.
On April 15 and 16, booklets "Yatsuka-no Kizashi" were distributed on streets by the members of the association.
A university student who received one said, "The university has just been relocated and am not acquainted with Soka yet. This booklet will help me to visit various shops," and "I find many unfamiliar shops in the booklet. I will enjoy walking around the town of Yatsuka."
The booklets are available in shops that belong to the merchant association.
