What is "Soka Shimin Daigaku (Adult Education University of Soka)"?
This is planned and organized by citizens, with the aim of improving ourselves by learning, of meeting people and of developing the community, giving classes in the 1st term and in the 2nd term as well as special extension lectures.
Two credits are given basically for attending more than half of the classes of a course (except special extension lectures).
A certificate of course completion will be given to those who earned 20 credits.

Course of the First Term
Machi-no Takumi?Tsukuru Hikaku Koza?(Beginners’ Course of Leather Craft)
Learn about the leather industry, one of the local industries of Soka, and try leather craft with genuine leather. Three classes in all.

5,000 yen (and 3,500 yen for teaching material separately)

Learn about the history of leather industry in Soka and about various materials.

Make a smartphone pochette and a spectacle case with genuine leather.
