May 16: Departure Day for "Oku-no Hosomichi"
May 16 is the day MASUO Basho is thought to have started on a journey of "Oku-no Hosomichi" and visited Soka.
The statue of MASUO Basho in Fudaba Kashi Park will be cleaned, commemorating that day.
Meet at the gathering place if you wish to join the cleaning.
After the cleaning, a commemorative certificate will be given and tea will be served in Soka-shuku Basho-an, followed by a lecture about MASUO Basho and "Oku-no Hosomichi."
