Construction of the New Building of the City Hall
The new government building was designed to be loved by citizens, which will have eaves as seen along the Old Nikko Road, will make use of eco-friendly natural energy and will be earthquake-resistant, so that it will serve as the function of a disaster control base in times of disaster such as an earthquake.
The ground-breaking ceremony was held on September 1, to wish for smooth progress of construction and for safety from accidents and disaster.
Mayor Masashi Asai expressed his thoughts for the new building, "I believe that citizens will like the new government building, which will be built on four principles?(1) friendly and open to people, (2) functional, efficient and worker-friendly government building, (3) environment-friendly government building and (4) disaster-resistant government building."
