Disaster Drill Conducted on August 12 and 17
For City Employees Assigned for Each Area

A disaster drill was conducted for about 180 city employees who are assigned to operate evacuation centers to be opened in times of disaster.
In order to open evacuation centers under the fear of the spread of infection of COVID-19, infection control measures are essential, avoiding 3 C's (closed spaces, crowded places and close-contact settings) and taking sanitation measures.
A practical drill was conducted, therefore, from the way to accept evacuees to the way to handle equipment, covering essential points in operating evacuation centers, taking measure against COVID-19.

Commitments to Prevent Infection in Operating Evacuation Centers

  • Avoid crowdedness by keeping 1 or 2 m distance between staying spaces or by installing partitions.
  • Plan to prepare partitions and automatic packing-type restrooms in each evacuation center by the end of this fiscal year.
  • Discuss the use of spaces of the facility, including school buildings other than the gymnasium.
  • Take temperature at the entrance to separate the traffic line of those who need some consideration from the general public.
  • Prepare staying space exclusively for those who need special consideration, such as those with suspected infection.
