Approved in the 3rd Extraordinary Session of the Soka City Council

To implement 41 projects, utilizing the 2nd special grant for regional revitalization and the emergency countermeasures fund for COVID-19

STEP 3: Recovery and improvement of citizens' lives

With the aim of adjusting to the new lifestyle of the "WITH Corona Society," we will continue the measures not to be infected and not to spread infection in the step 1, implement measures to stabilize citizens' lives in the step 2 and to recover and improve citizens' lives in the step 3 through the revitalization of local commerce and industry.
We will work to develop a community where citizens and business operators can live with peace of mind.

Major Projects

Issuance of Merchandise Coupons with Premium

Total Amount of Issuance: 1.3 Billion Yen

Premium rate: 30%
A book of 10,000 yen merchandise coupons for shopping of 13,000 yen
<Application for purchase> From early October
<Usable for shopping> From mid-November

To revitalize economy, merchandise coupons with the premium rate of 30% will be issued, which can be used in stores in Soka City which handle those coupons.
Details, including the procedure for application, will be announced later.

Support Baby Special Benefit

Merchandise Coupons with Premium to Be Given to Newborns

<For whom?>
Newborns who were born from April 28, 2020 to December 31, 2020

* Those who are registered as a resident of Soka City by birth registration and who are still registered as a resident

<Benefit amount>
39,000 yen per baby

Total Project Budget: 54.5 million yen

With the aim of supporting child-raising families, merchandise coupons will be given to newborns who are not covered by the special fixed-sum benefit of the nation.
The application form will be sent to eligible families from late September sequentially.

Realization of the GIGA School Plan

To Prepare Tablet Terminators for All Elementary and Junior High School Students

This project aims to realize the educational ICT environment to foster children's capacity and ability.

Total Project Budget: 1.01 billion yen

The project aims to prepare one tablet terminator per student and to improve the Internet communication environment of schools.

Prevention of the Spread of Infection

Public Facilities: About 52 million yen

  • Antimicrobial coating for all the audience seats of Soka-shi Bunka Kaikan (Soka City Culture Hall), AKOS Hall, Chuo Kominkan (Public Hall), gymnasiums, etc.
  • Installation of thermography cameras in the City Hall, Bunka Center (culture centers) and community centers
