Soka, Community Full of Graciousness

Happy New Year!
I hope you are celebrating New Year with your family.

The Emperor ascended to the throne in May last year, and the new era of Reiwa started.
I have a feeling of tension and determination to develop a hometown which is full of hope and which we can be proud of, and pass it down to the next generation.

This year the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics will be held.
Soka City is a host town of the Republic of Columbia, providing a place for the pre-games camp of the Paralympic swimming team.
On July 8, Soka City will be the starting point of the torch relay on the second day of Saitama Prefecture.
We will organize projects with citizens that will remain in our memory for years to come so as to enliven the great event, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.

In addition, in order to prepare against natural disaster, which often occurred in recent years, I will make utmost efforts in the municipal administration to develop a disaster-resistant city to protect the lives of citizens, and a community full of graciousness where citizens can live with peace of mind.
