The leather Kimono work "THE LEATHER SCRAP KIMONO" was created in collaboration of Ms. SHINOHARA Tomoe, designer, and craftsmen belonging to the Soka Leather Craftsmen Association.
About 90 pieces of leather scraps of Cervus hortulorum, which would otherwise have been disposed of, were pasted together into a Kimono, with the gradation like painting in Chinese ink, describing mountain ridges where animals live.
This work, given an eminent prize for advertisement, will be permanently exhibited in Dento Sangyo Tenji-shitsu (Traditional Industries Exhibition Room) in Soka-shi Bunka Kaikan (Soka City Culture Hall).
Take a look at a masterpiece of leather which was esteemed highly by the world.
