Peace Day Lecture

Soka City made a declaration of the "Peace City" in 1987, and has been involved in activities for world peace and international cooperation.
As one of those activities, the lecture was held on September 12 in Kinrou Fukushi Kaikan (Welfare Hall for Workers).
The 40 attendees were listening earnestly.

Reciting of Experience as an Atomic Bomb Victim

Ms. Kazumi Tsuchida, Director of Saitama Prefecture Council of Atomic Bomb Victims, talked about her experience of exposure to an atomic bomb in Hiroshima in her early childhood, recalling her memories.
Her speech included the situation in those days and the cruelty of war, with the emphasis on the importance of renunciation of war.

Lecture "Noborito Research Institute, War and Peace"

Mr. Akira Yamada, Director of Peace Education Noborito Research Institute Data Library of Meiji University, talked about the backstage of war, from the viewpoint of war of secret (counterintelligence, intelligence, plots and propaganda), which is usually unknown to us.
He also talked about his thoughts about peace, "It is important to learn about the cruelty of war in your community, and pass it down to the next generation."
