Update : 2021-12-7
October is a month to promote reducing food loss
"MOTTAINAI" is a countersign.
Food, that is still good but thrown away, is called "food waste." In Japan, food waste amounts to about 6.12 million tons a year; it means everyday a bowl of rice is wasted per person.
Be conscious of the word "MOTTAINAI" and keep in mind not buying too much, cooking it all and eating it all in order to reduce the volume of food waste.
