Population of Soka City Reaches 250,000 on April 9

Soka City was born on November 1, 1958, with the population of 34,878, as the 21st city in Saitama Prefecture.
After that, as a commuter town of Tokyo, the population soared and the city became urbanized rapidly from the early 1960s, along with the construction of a large-scale housing complex "Matsubaradanchi," and the through service of the Tobu Railway into the subway Hibiya Line.
After the population reached 200,000 in February 1989, it continued increasing gradually to reach 250,000 on April 9, 2020.
Soka City will continue its community development to realize a "Livable City," under the theme of "a community filled with warm-heartedness, Soka," with 250,000 citizens.
