Not To Be Infected and Not To Spread Infection
The Declaration of a State of Emergency. Avoid Going Out until May 6
Measures Extended to May 6 - The closure of public facilities, and the cancelation or postponement of events or meetings organized by the city
To cope with the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus infection, the government declared a state of emergency on April 7, based on the coronavirus special measures law.
In response to the declaration, Mr. Oono, the governor of Saitama Prefecture, is asking to avoid nonessential and nonurgent outings in the prefecture.
In order to prevent the spread of infection, PLEASE avoid going out during the period of the state of emergency, until May 6.
Do not be confused by uncertain information, and act calmly, based on the information from the government and the municipality.
A state of emergency was declared on April 7, and we are now coping with the novel coronavirus infection on a new phase.
Soka City is implementing measures, including the closure of public facilities, and the cancelation or postponement of events.
We will continue to make the best decisions and to take best measures, coping with the situation, so as to protect the lives, safety and security of citizens.
Although nurseries and children's clubs are open, they have a high risk of meeting the condition of "Three Cs," so we ask for your cooperation not to send your children to those facilities as much as possible.
We ask every citizen to have a sense of impending crisis and to take appropriate actions.
Mr. Masashi Asai, Mayor of Soka City
Avoid "Three Cs," If You Cannot Avoid Going Out
- Closed spaces with poor ventilation
- Crowded places with many people nearby
- Close-contact settings such as close-range conversations
It is the most essential for each of us to avoid infection and to protect oneself so as to prevent the spread of infection.
Keep these "Three Cs" from overlapping in daily life.
The measures and response of Soka City will be decided, based on the future situation of infection.
Visit the website of Soka City to see the updated information.

Strengthen Your Infection Prevention Measures
By Washing Your Hands Frequently and Being Careful in Coughing
By touching a door knob or other things, virus may attach your hand.
Be sure to wash your hands when coming home, before and after cooking and before meals.
Alcohol swab will work as well.
It is generally assumed that infection is caused by touching your eyes or mouth with unwashed hands.
In order to prevent the scatter of splash in coughing, cover your mouth with a handkerchief, observing the etiquette.
How to make a mask easily with a handkerchief is seen on a separate page.
