Outline of this benefit

 This benefit is one of the Emergency Economic Measures to the Novel Coronavirus Disease.
 100,000 yen cash benefit payment will be given to the people in Japan who have some difficulties due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Persons subject to the benefits

All the resident in Japan including the foreigners.
*Persons who are registered in the basic resident register as on April 27, 2020.

Payment amount

100,000 yen for each person

How to apply

 An application form in an envelope will be sent to the householder from May 29.
 Please check the contents and fill out the necessary fields (your bank account etc.) and post the application form in a stamped return envelope.
*If you check the mark “DON’T WANT” field you cannot receive this benefit.

  • A householder must take sure to attach documents:
  • A copy of ID documents such as residence card, driver’s license, health insurance certificate, passport etc.
  • A copy of the bankbook* If you had registered your bank account for paying water fee, municipal tax or receiving Jido Teate (child allowance) you don’t need a copy of your bankbook.

Post application should be postmarked on or before *August 31(Monday), 2020.

Middle or late of June (scheduled) *Soka City is arranging the schedule in order to transfer the money sooner.

 Coronavirus Hotline for Foreign Residents by Saitama Prefecture
 Saitama Prefecture offers the Hotline for the foreign residents who are anxious about the Novel Coronavirus disease in 11 languages including easy Japanese.

Multilingual Telephone Consultation by Japan Medical Association

Japan Medical Association starts hotline service with AMDA (Association of Medical Doctors of Asia) for the foreigners who want to know about consulting a medical institution in foreign languages.

 You can use Japan Visitor Hotline by the Japan National Tourism Organization that assists in the case of accidents and emergencies for the tourists.
 But now they accept the inquiry regarding the COVID-19 in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Prevention of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) Infection

 Remain calm and take the measures to prevent infection in the same way for influenza; cough and sneeze etiquette as well as washing hands.

*Especially we ask the elderly or people with underlying disease, who are prone to be in serious condition if they are infected, to avoid visiting the places many people gather.

Inquire of the Support Center for the Citizens in Saitama Prefecture

 The support center receives phone calls from people who are suspected to be infected with the virus and makes arrangement.

*If you have had cold symptoms or high fever, or if you have a strong feeling of weariness (fatigue) or shortness of breath (difficulty breathing), consult the center below. Also consult if you are a senior citizen, have an underlying disease such as diabetes, heart failure or respiratory disease or receive dialysis, or take immunosuppressant drugs or anticancer drugs, and you have had the symptoms mentioned above for about two days.

 Even when the COVID-19 has caused a decrease in business to the company, companies are not allowed to treat foreign workers less favorably than Japanese workers just because they are foreigners.
